Job Summary
As a Senior Account Manager for Marine, you will develop new business and manage prime and aftermarket sales through the development of sound business relationships in Africa and Middle East. This position has a direct impact on the customer base, customer development & retention and the dealers success in the Marine market.
What You Will Do
Develop and maintain effective internal partner relationships, relationships with the specified Caterpillar Dealers and major Marine customers so that sales (Prime/New and Aftermarket) objectives can be achieved.
Establish high-level relationships with business decision makers and identify business needs and challenges. Develop and implement market strategies for the Marine industry and customers as well as securing commitments of Caterpillar and Dealer resources to assure continued customer satisfaction.
Act as a consultant to various departments within Caterpillar regarding the direction and strategies that key leaders will be adopting in the future. Consult with dealers and districts about sales and sales capability to customers, both operators and shipyards. Take steps necessary to assure customer satisfaction to maintain and enhance growth.
Make regular visits, in collaboration with the dealers, to job locations, foreign and domestic, to provide advice and counsel to potential customers.
Demonstrate leadership skills in support of the direct reports and further.
Must have ability to work with people from different backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve conflict. Good human relations skills are required to develop a collaborative/cooperative work relationship with others, inside and outside the business unit.
Job Related Statistics
Prime (New) engines sales Order Intake, profitability, demand planning
Aftermarket sales of parts (Sales to Users), service contracts (Customer Value Agreements), profitability
Engine overhauls, ideally related to prioritized service events, ensuring timely and qualitative registration
CRM completeness and updating
Leadership attributes in action
Environmental, Health and Sustainability fostering and promoting
Team development and career planning
You Will Have
Basic Qualifications:
A college degree or equivalent experience with 15 plus years of specific to Marine industry experience in order to gain recognition as a company expert.
At least one international assignment or considerable travel/experience, broad business background, specific long-term industry knowledge
Excellent communication skills, fluent
Be able to deal with sensitive issues, mentor and coach others or persuade others on new methods of engines application, new technology and distribution methods.
Previous customers/account management experience for a period of at least 3-5 years and/or supervisory experience within the company and/or experience as fully contributing member on significant projects and/or teams.
Ability to travel frequently, mainly within EAME region (up to 50% of work time).
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Knowledge of another European (French as preferred) or Arabic language
