The Role

A Service Engineer is responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing industrial refrigeration units. In addition, attends out of hours calls as required on a rota basis and providing recommendations on changes for cost savings and performance improvements.

Service Engineer is expected to oversee fabrication of and troubleshoot problems with complex refrigeration systems for specifically industrial use, there should be an interest in hands-on engineering work and a respect for safety procedures.

Your Responsibilities And Duties Will Include

Keeps customer informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues, recommends system enhancement/upgrade/replacement and promotes the sale of change orders and/or additional labour & material work (L&M).
Advises and instructs customer in system operations.
Maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems and units.
Documents work completed in a clear and concise way and promptly submits service reports.
Maintains and improves technical proficiency in the product lines.
Ensures compliance with the company’s safety culture and adheres to all applicable safety standards, requirements and equipment.
Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Meets regularly with customer to become familiar with operating problems and reach full understanding of customer needs (on site only).
Understands and analyzes relevant technical documents.
Diagnoses and repairs systems malfunctions requiring specific technical knowledge and relevant qualifications as well as an understanding on time and material requirements. Seeks clarification and technical support where needed and escalates issues as appropriate.
Installs, starts up and commissions systems in line with defined regulations, standards and processes.
Perform all job duties in a safe manner and obey all safety policies and procedures.
Perform all job duties consistent with the Code of Ethics, ISO standards, regulatory or statutory requirements.
Perform other duties and cross training as assigned.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in related courses.
