Job Description:

Goods and Services

Ensure goods and services are bought as per the approved scope of works and delivered on time.

Maintain Relationships

Help to maintain relationships with key suppliers who are aligned with the companys goals and growth plans.

Identify new Suppliers.

Identify and develop vendor base for cost effective procurement of materials, Equipments & services.

Prepare Enquiry package (RFQ) incorporating the Scope of work, equipment schedule, relevant drawings & specification, Vendor list, BOQ, etc and send the same to vendors and obtain quotations.

Proposing Value Engineering Proposals from time to time to improve efficiency & reduce cost.

Internal relationships

Foster close working relationships with associated departments GEMS corporate office and schools

Delivery schedules

Responsible to ensure all items purchased related to schools are delivered in a timely manner to avoid disruptions within the schools. Follow up with MSOs for ensuring goods are receipted correctly.

Evaluation of orders

Evaluate and monitor schools purchase requests for proper authorisation, specification, and legal compliance. Take responsibility for the procurement of those requests.

Prepare Enquiry package (RFQ) incorporating the Scope of work, equipment schedule, relevant drawings & specification, Vendor list, BOQ, etc and send the same to vendors and obtain quotations.

Review and analyse the contractors proposals, compliance of specifications, payment terms, Bank guarantee/security cheque, inclusions and exclusions of the offered price, Warranties, delivery time are in line with company & project requirements.

Prepare the techno-commercial comparison and select the vendor who ensures optimum quality with defined engineering requirement at best negotiated price, payment terms & delivery time.

Preparation of Subcontract agreement for Design, Supply, Installation, Testing & commissioning works as per FIDIC Standards and Prepare the Material framework agreements.

Assist Schools

Assist the schools in the raising for requisitions and becoming the centre of excellence for schools procurement. Answer questions related to policy and procedure by the school as requested.

Achieve cost savings on the assigned category

Timely supply

Help ensure the delivery of all items as per agreed project milestone with the requesting departments.

Expected Qualifications:

Batchelors degree in Business Administration or similar (would be good if background is Civil Engineering)

Expected Experience:

5+ years experience within a large organization in Procurement Department of a civil construction company

Strong numerical and analytical aptitude.

Commercial and financial acumen.

Proven Negotiating Skills And Influencing Abilities.

Ability to read, analyse the Drawings and technical specifications.

Experience with business and commercial analysis.

Ability to read, analyse and interpret commercial business documents and technical procedures.

Excellent verbal and written command of the English language. (Arabic desirable but not mandatory)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
