Job Description
The job is to co-ordinate with Principals, on-site client representatives and port operations to ensure that voyage orders or appointments for port calls are received and actioned, including scrutinizing/approving proforma disbursement account and handling any enquiries from Principal and agent.
A key stakeholder to promote and demonstrate GAC values and work ethics, uphold company policies and work practices such as customer SOPs, promote mentorship and teamwork to team members.
Key Areas Of Responsibilities
Understand the information required and all critical processes in conducting a port call operation.
Assist in the training of new colleagues and solving job related issues when they arise.
Attend to voyage orders promptly, normally within 2 hours.
Communicate with Principals to obtain and explain information to/from local ship agents.
Scrutinize/approve proforma disbursement accounts including fund requests and verifying SOF entries.
Input, scrutinise and challenge all necessary information into the company business software.
Check costs and fees from local agents are correct, and correspond to what is contractually agreed.
Comprehensive knowledge of business software and keeping it updated with correct real time data.
Notifying immediate team leaders in case of any discrepancy during vessel operation
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Other Requirements:
Minimum 5-6 years in shipping agency operations
Graduate from a recognized university
Good communication skills in English both written and spoken.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Good skills in complete MS Office packages
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at the same time
