Job Summary:
We are seeking to employ a highly qualified Risk Manager to work across major projects in the Middle East, based in Dubai. The successful candidate will work closely with the Consultancy team across practice lines to lead and deliver risk management services across a portfolio of construction projects in pre-contract and post-contract stages.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
Initiate, manage and coordinate risk management activities across all stages of projects.
Chair / facilitate risk management meetings.
Coordinate with Clients, Engineers, Contractors and Consultancy team members on risk management activities at all levels.
Monitor risk registers and trends across multiple projects within a program of works.
Create and maintain risk registers for projects (in formats approved by the Clients).
Advise clients on risk management strategies and appropriate mitigation plans.
Work with the team to provide cost information to enable quantitative assessment of risks.
Advise clients on project contingency levels
Recommend adjustments to risk registers (as necessary) and advise on appropriate drawdowns.
Advise clients on Risk Management best practices and improvements
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years post degree experience in risk management, applied in a construction / real estate focused sector and a strong track record of projects delivered.
Degree qualified
Good working knowledge of Middle East design and construction projects, conditions of contract and contractual issues.
Demonstrable skills in the implementation and monitoring of project risk management on building and infrastructure projects
Familiarity with risks associated with new and refurbishment projects.
Excellent knowledge of project risks associated throughout the project life cycle, together with experience of preparing and implementing suitable risk management strategies.
Must be capable of chairing risk meetings and following up with project team members at all levels.
Familiarity with risk management software used for recording and reporting risk
Demonstratable skill in quantitative cost risk assessment (Monte Carlo)
Specific risk management qualification would be preferred.
