PROCUREMENT ASSISTANT Full Time

About the job
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To assist the Procurement Manager with monitoring stock levels and identifying purchasing needs
To research and identity potential vendors and partnerships
Assist with tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery of stock
Monitor inventory levels and identify purchasing requirements
Update internal databases to reflect order details including dates, vendors, quantities
Conduct market research to identify pricing trends and action accordingly
Evaluate offers and opportunities from vendors and negotiate better prices
Maintain updated and accurate records of invoices and contracts
Follow-up with suppliers as required to either confirm or alter orders
Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure that all inventory arrives in good condition
Effectively assists with efficient management of inventory stock control
Successfully identified new vendors with ongoing relationships
Continually makes cost-effective purchase decisions for the company

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE:

Prior experience purchasing and managing inventory levels efficiently
Knowledge of types of purchasing software
Ambitious and highly motivated to meet and exceed the demands of the role
Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Confident in reporting and analyzing results
Driven and motivated by positive results
Organized and thorough in approach
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

3 + Years as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer or similar role
