MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
To ensure crew movements are in compliance of the GCAA imposed flight time regulations in addition to company agreed policies, maintaining safety standards and contribute to on-time performance by effective crew management for over 3500 crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures Crew Rosters are monitored and managed post-roster publication in compliance with GCAA regulations and company policies.
- Monitors current and upcoming flights operating on the day and beyond to ensure they are adequately crewed in accordance with the standard required crew complement.
- Maintains and ensures situational awareness to identify potential impact and promptly highlights to senior team members to determine and implement proactive measures to mitigate operational disruptions.
- Contributes towards development of an action plan for operational recovery in co-ordination with Senior team members when DXB Hub Protection Policy is activated.
- Communicates with crew members and with relevant stakeholders regarding crew operations , escalating conflicts or critical issues to senior team members as needed.
- Ensures all tasks are achieved in a very responsible manner, this could involve flight coverage, interactions with the crew or a member of flydubai management team.
- Ensures every change of duty assigned on the crew rosters are carefully evaluated to mitigate risks associated to safety
- Evaluates the risk to crew resources and cost of operation while planning of crew operating patterns especially when adhoc operations or diversions are required to be initiated
- Escalates potential risks associated to shortage of crew resources to Senior team members.
- Provides input on crew scheduling strategies to achieve increased levels of productivity without compromising on the quality of output
- Ensures consolidation of duty hours and block hours to avoid duty time infringements, initiate standby call outs, delay crew members and amend reporting times, conduct delay tolerance, and fulfil deadhead requirements.
- Ensures any changes to crew patterns that impact logistical arrangements, such as hotel accommodation and transport, are actioned promptly to prevent additional costs to the company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (3+ years)
- Fluent in English
- Minimum 1 year of experience in crew scheduling or crew planning or crew operations within a commercial airline. Preferred knowledge and experience in airline operations, crew scheduling and applicable flight time rules and regulations
- Knowledge of Oracle ERP is desirable. Expertise in Microsoft Office and other reporting tools.
- Years with qualifications: 3 – 5 years, Years without qualifications (if applicable): 5 – 7 years
