In this integrated Communications Manager role, you will craft, manage and deliver corporate communications strategies and programs to further Western Union’s objectives while reinforcing corporate reputation. Your remit will span across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific countries in which Western Union is present. This is a fixed-term, maternity cover role lasting 7 months.
Role Responsibilities
Support the Regional Communications Director for the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific businesses in developing and deploying effective communications strategies and tactics with a 360 approach – promoting Western Unions reputation, narrative and leadership role in the industry across the regions.
Work in lockstep with supporting PR agencies to establish a positive company image through compelling storytelling among customers, partners, employees, investors, key influencers, government representatives, and the wider public.
Use your external and internal communications experience to manage media relations and employee communications programs and campaigns. Collaborate with cross-functional leaders across Western Union to remain well informed of key priorities and connect the dots.
Manage feedback mechanisms and measurement processes to showcase success.
Role Requirements
You are a self-motivated team-player, with a proactive can-do approach.
You have at least 5 – 7 years of external (print, online, and social media) and Internal communications experience – ideally in the financial services sector.
Experience within the remittances industry in particular would be advantageous.
You are proficient in English with excellent speaking, writing, editing, and proofreading skills. You have excellent attention to detail, are creative and can identify stories for internal and external platforms.
You have strong interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship-building skills. You have the confidence to deal with colleagues at all levels, in all parts of the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and Africa, including senior executives.
You are able to project manage and have time management skills. Organisational and planning skills come naturally to you, as does the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
You are familiar with working in multinational, matrix organisations – collaborating within Global Communications structures and cross-functionally.
