Responsibilities
Defines, develops and implements a business plan for the region according to the overall business plan
Based on the MENA business plan, develops and implements an annual work plan in alignment with the Integrated Global Work Plan in close cooperation with other departments (Strategy, Membership, Marketing and Services, and Knowledge and Innovation departments) and the MENA Executive Committee.
Analyses the public transport market in the region and identifies leads for membership and business development (events and knowledge).
Decides on the scope, size/budget and time for the activities under his/her responsibility and distributes the tasks within the team. These activities are:
Services to members:
The management of working bodies of in the MENA region, in particular, the Division Meetings, the MENA Executive Board and the Centre of Transport Excellence (CTE) Strategic Board.
The promotion of the participation of MENA Members in global committees.
Regional projects:
The development, coordination, execution follow up and leading research projects in the framework of the MENA CTE and regional events, covering issues of interest in the fields of public transport, urban transport and sustainable mobility in the MENA region;
Preparation of project plans and budgets for CTE projects, training programmes and events;
Supervision and documentation of all publishing materials issued by the office or the CTE.
Setting and executing strategic research and training plans for CTE to serve the needs of the MENA region (topic priorities, etc.)
Supervises and coordinates all activities under his/her responsibility.
Supervises Liasion Office in Casablanca.
Supervision of roles related MENA Office for the organisation of MENA Congress in 2024.
Represents in the region, coordinates with (international) institutions and is responsible for all relevant contacts.
Coordinates relations with partner (RTA Dubai) of MENA CTE and MENA Congress
Promotes public transport in line with the global advocacy strategy.
Engages and negotiates with potential members and contacts, in the region.
Is responsible of the day-to-day administrative and financial management of the offices, including human resources, compliance, internal procedures, and human resources. This applies to both the MENA Regional Office and CTE.
Is responsible for the budget of the region, including the reporting to Brussels, and manages it according to Boards recommendations and guidelines.
Manages the team according to the RISE values and with care to ensure its sustainable performance. This mainly consists in providing the employees with guidance, leadership and support, ensuring their development and well-being, while being responsible for enforcing corporate policies and procedures standards;
Develops and Implements clear, efficient and inclusive processes which focuses on strengths, potentials and cultivates openness and the acceptance of constructive criticism;
Creates the conditions for fulfilment at work by promoting autonomy, engagement cooperation, belonging and creativity in a sustainable way. Identifies and promotes professional growth opportunities for staff.
Sets departmental and individual employee goals by recognising talents and putting them at the service of the department or the organisation and provides routine evaluations of progress toward these goals.
Job requirements
Competencies
Excellent knowledge and understanding of Public Transport sector and its stakeholders
Clear, effective communication and negotiation skills in a collaborative and transparent environment
Experience in Associations is asset
Experience in public transport organisations
Master degree is asset
At least 10 years of working experience
IT literate
Ability to work autonomously but also within a group
Proactive, convincing and diplomatic approach
Availability and willingness to travel
Fluent in English and Arabic
A Regional Manager, or Regional Director oversees multiple commercial establishments within a specified region.
