Job Summary

This Company is currently seeking an Upstream Facilities Engineering Specialist to collaborate with the Unconventional Reservoir Engineering Department within the Unconventional Resources Administration Area. In this role, the Upstream Facilities Engineering Specialist will take on the responsibility of developing Unconventional Upstream Facilities for both capital and annual projects. This includes overseeing various stages such as scope development, engineering, construction, and commissioning. The facilities involved encompass Gas Compression Plants, Gas Processing Plants, Early Production Facilities, Wellhead tie-ins, and the hydraulic network design of Pipelines. The specialist will also provide regular updates on project budgets, progress, and enhancements, with a focus on identifying cost-effective alternatives, improving performance, and reducing costs.
Moreover, this role entails leading a group of engineers in specific tasks and studies related to field development and Master Plans. Active involvement is expected in the review of the company’s engineering standards and the active mentoring and development of young professionals in the field. Overall, the Upstream Facilities Engineering Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful development and execution of upstream facilities projects while contributing to ongoing improvements and the growth of the engineering team.

Responsibilities:

Develop conceptual scope of work for oil and gas upstream facilities and review engineering design packages.
Develop annual business plans and long-term investment plans.
Well acquainted with risk assessment approaches and HAZOP studies related to upstream facilities.
Perform and analyze pipe hydraulic simulation models using PC-based software packages.
Develop artificial lift studies including different scenarios of options with cost analysis.
Provide cost optimizations and perform economic analysis to identify the most cost-effective alternative for upstream facilities development.

Requirements:

This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized program; MSc or PhD preferred but not required.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in petroleum engineering, with at least 5 years in project-related work.
Familiarity with various aspects of the oil and gas industry, including gas plants, distribution systems, processing facilities, and gathering systems.
Extensive project experience, including design, funding, materials acquisition, construction, and commissioning. Able to identify design improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
Strong understanding of project cost estimating and explaining budget over/under runs.
Desirable to have experience in production engineering, reservoir engineering, and downhole well completions due to expected involvement in related studies.
