Job Purpose
This role will be responsible for taking a leadership role in identification of exploratory and emerging technologies, along with banks business stakeholders and customer experience team, s required to strengthen the core operating model, enhance customer journeys and implement end to end digital fulfilment model.
To lead and manage user engagement, technology solution research, enhancements of products and services in retail and wholesale banking in line with the Banks business strategy. Responsible for defining, supporting and building of desirable, feasible, viable and sustainable technology business solutions that meet customer needs.
Supports building the Solution Development & Capabilities team for the bank which includes conceptualization, coordinating for IT development and leading the roll out of technology-based business solutions and new initiatives. Drive adoption of Agile and Scrum methodologies and inculcates Design Thinking into our solution development process
Collaborate with various business stakeholders for identifying technology, solution building, development and delivery of technology-based solutions including holistic development life cycle management and working closely with Information Technology on agile delivery of MVP roadmap. Explore emerging technologies including adoption of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning etc. into our processes
Involves in supporting creation of new products by working closely with business & product teams from concept stage to Development, market assessment, product definition, prototyping and right up to solution launch in partnership with all relevant stakeholders.
Manages a team of individuals consisting of technology resources, Dev Ops specialists, Middleware specialists, SCRUM masters and product domain experts who will contribute towards the development of solutions using innovative technology, while working in collaboration with various functional stakeholders
Interact and Coordinates with internally with customer facing stakeholders like the call centres, Business & customer service groups , Business segments to gather VOC and coordinate with Application Support Analysts to ensure that banks application systems (which includes Core system, payment systems, BPM and other surround system) are properly maintained and support is enabled by the IT team, so that there are no service disruptions post implementation and deployment either through vendors or IT function
Involves in vendor selection, creating and implementing contracts with technology partners as well on-going vendor management with suppliers as Product Portfolio continues to expand.
Involves in business process reengineering, business analysis, development of road maps for implementation of specific initiatives, system test plan, system testing, defect analysis and project management.
Ensure harmonious alignment with activities and requirements associated with the Bank technology team
Support & provide guidance to the Banks IT banking applications team on optimization and
standardization of IT processes to ensure that the service is delivered effectively and efficiently
Key Accountabilities
Lead the conceptualization and design of technology-based business solutions in alignment with the banks strategy
Conceptualization of solutions for identified business problems/new initiatives
Ensure the implementation of agreed solutions
Lead a cross functional transaction focussed team who will be responsible for ideation, design and design effectiveness, coordination of development, testing and delivery of business solutions
To support the process of external benchmarking (in terms of efficiency, revenue-enabling features, risk mitigation) in IT solution capabilities, innovation and solution research, incorporation of the initiatives in strategic and tactical framework, and the initiation work for project authorization
Improve the solution development and roll out life cycle for the bank
? Lead, Plan and oversee projects, from the initial ideation through to completion, to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion
? Roll out appropriate project management tools like Agile and Scrum methodologies to improve project life cycle and delivery timelines. Inculcate design thinking into the process of development
? Play a key part in Technical Design Governance
? Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility
? Provider regular updates and MIS to banks senior management on initiatives, projects and solutions
* To manage user engagement proactively and effectively as the Ideation, Implementation, Training and play the role of an IT support partner to the user groups
* To manage reengineering of business processes / business analysis in Business Applications and processed including Core Banking and surround system which supports business process and customer experience.
Other Accountabilities
* To support and provide guidance in system testing related to core banking and other business applications
Demonstrate technical expertise and experience to contribute to all sprint events (planning, refinements, retrospectives, demos)
– Continually research the current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed
– Assess the business impact that certain technical choices have and present to senior management
– Work closely with various stakeholders to identify appropriate business problems that require technology-based solutions and help achieve business goals
– Support building a DevOps structure and ensure a framework is put in place for roll out of DevOps ecosystem within the bankManage key vendor relationships including selection of and contracting new partners
* Manage skilled & qualified business analysts productively.
Leadership skills / People Management
Develop and foster relationships within Business solution and Capabilities team and across the organisation to achieve desired objectives
Educate and build an understanding of the development processes with a view to making project management efforts more efficient and successful
? Drive staff trainings to develop skill sets
Other Accountabilities Job Context
The Role holder would need to co-ordinate with various departments in Business, IT service delivery, SQC initiatives and on-going performance improvement.
Education MBA / CA / Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Masters in Computer Applications from a recognised institute / university with international certifications in Banking Domain Experience and Skills
Professional Qualifications
PMP/COBIT/ITIL Certification is preferred but not essential.
Work Experience
12 – 15 years of experience in a banking / financial environment are pre-requisites for this role. Experience should cover:
Corporate Banking/ Treasury/Trade Operations/ Credit > 4 years
Business Analysis > 4 years
Project Management > 5 years
People Management > 3 years
Experience in an IT organization or a consulting organization or a leading bank is essential.
Specialist Skills/Competencies Required for the Role
Business Analysis:
Should be well-conversant with software development life cycle and should be able to lead a team to analyse, document and communicate the business requirement in the area of corporate and retail banking in a systematic way.
Knowledge of banking products like T24, Islamic Banking, accounting rules, regulatory requirements is expected. Good knowledge of internet banking, GL system and workflow procedures including Finance, Accounts Payable, Reconciliation etc. is expected.
Knowledge of Entity relationship diagram, data flow diagram, use case is expected.
Business Processes
Should be strong in the area of Corporate Banking, Treasury and BASEL II regulation
Project Management
Knowledge of project estimation, risk management and formal planning is essential
Should be able to work with and appraise people of different demographic profiles
Exposure to AGILE and DevOps methodologies
Technical
Familiarity with web architecture
Working knowledge in SQL and enterprise RDBMS
Experience in managing third-party application and the vendor based on SLA
Experience in unit/module/integration testing, test planning, defect tracking etc
Familiarity with international service management frameworks such as ITIL/COBIT
Familiarity with IT audit processes
