Driver / Technician Assistant Full Time NEW

The Driver & Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of technicians, equipment, and materials to various job sites across Dubai and the UAE. In addition to driving duties, this role provides essential support to maintenance technicians on site and performs a range of basic handyman and maintenance tasks as required. This is a dynamic role requiring reliability, practical skills, and a proactive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Logistics:

• Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly, strictly adhering to UAE traffic laws and regulations.
• Transport technicians, tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites according to schedules and dispatch instructions.
• Plan efficient routes using GPS or local knowledge to navigate Dubai and surrounding areas effectively.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks (fuel, oil, tires, lights, brakes, cleaning) and report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance.
• Ensure all transported items are securely loaded and protected.

Technician Assistance:

• Assist technicians with loading and unloading tools, equipment, and materials at the office and job sites.
• Provide physical assistance to technicians during tasks (e.g., holding items, moving furniture, setting up ladders, retrieving tools).
• Help with site preparation and clean-up before, during, and after maintenance work.
• Follow instructions from the technician to support the efficient completion of tasks.

Basic Handyman & Maintenance Tasks:

• Basic plumbing fixes (e.g., fixing minor leaks, changing tap washers).
• Simple electrical tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, replacing switch covers – non-complex work).
• Painting touch-ups and minor plaster repairs.
• Fixing or assembling simple items (e.g., shelves, blinds, door handles).
• Minor carpentry fixes.
• Perform simple maintenance and repair jobs as directed, which may include:
• Use basic hand tools and simple power tools safely and effectively.
• Follow instructions and safety procedures for all maintenance tasks.

General:

• Maintain a professional appearance and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients and the public.
• Communicate effectively with technicians, dispatchers, and supervisors.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.
• Assist with general duties at the company premises when not on job sites.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a commercial or maintenance environment.
• Valid UAE Driving License is MANDATORY.
• Clean driving record.
• Basic knowledge and practical experience in performing small handyman or general maintenance tasks.
• Ability to safely use common hand tools and basic power tools.
• Good physical condition, with the ability to lift and carry equipment and materials (specify weight range if possible, e.g., “up to 25 kg”).
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic communication skills (English preferred, knowledge of other languages is a plus).
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Familiarity with roads and locations in Dubai and the surrounding Emirates is an advantage.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to sit for extended periods while driving.
• Ability to stand, walk, crouch, stoop, and kneel for various tasks on site.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, equipment, and materials.
