The Director of Finance is responsible for the determination of optimum control objectives and for the installation and maintenance of appropriate internal control systems over income, expenditure, assets and liabilities within the hotel. In the performance of these duties, the Director of Finance must maintain a spirit of responsiveness among all persons and functions supervised, in order to produce a positive and unified approach to the fulfilment of all responsibilities of the position.
Responsibilities
General:
It is part of your role to understand and disseminate/communicate all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures to the colleagues.

Act as a hotel ambassador at all times.
To carry out any additional duties requested by management, related to hotel operational activities.
Divisional:
To direct, manage and support the development, implementation, maintenance and administration if all financial controls and accounting procedures, based upon a maximization of internal control techniques consistent with Group corporate management established policy and generally accepted accounting principles, as adapted to the requirements of the hotels management contract and other local legal requirements.
To play an active role in the management of the hotel and to exercise a responsive attitude to the needs of the General Manager and other members of the hotel management team.
To ensure compliance to terms and conditions of the hotels management contract, with particular regard to provisions relating to the companys responsibilities as the managers and bringing any discrepancies to the immediate attention of the General Manager and group corporate management.
To actively involved in the search for opportunities to improve the profitability of the hotel and encourage the preparation of exception reports and analyses to help meet and measure the success of this objective.
To manage, supervise and support all subordinate employees, with a view to optimizing the profitability of the hotel and improving the guest experience.
To initiate employee development and evaluation programs for all subordinate staff to ensure the highest level of professional competence and efficient continuity within those positions.
To ensure all financial reports, budgets, forecasts and other information required by Group corporate management are accurately compiled and submitted within the specified time limits, identifying variances and making recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
To personally review forecasts and budgets prepared by hotel management to ensure the General manager and Group corporate management are kept fully apprised of any implications which may affect the performance of the hotel in meeting its financial objectives.
To ensure adequate controls are installed and maintained for the protection of the hotels assets against loss or misappropriation.
To ensure adequate insurance coverage is maintained to protect the assets of the hotel with particular regard to the requirements contained in the hotels management contract.
Assume full responsibility for the proper control of all cash funds and other assets for subordinates.
To establish a comprehensive credit and collection policy for the hotel based on good industry practice and within the guidelines provided by Group corporate management.
Information Security
Identify and regularly review the classification levels of all your information with your department.
Ensure that the information and information security equipment assets under your control are secured as effectively as practically possible to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information assets.
Authorize user access to information under your control and remove access when it is no longer required.
Communicate access control requirements to Information Security management and the information users.
Skills & Qualifications
Senior School qualification or equivalent
Degree or Diploma in Finance
Minimum of 8 years experience in accounting with at least 1 year in a similar capacity
Experienced in POS and PMS Systems (Opera / PSMS / Info Genesis / Micros)
Experienced in Accounting System (SUN System)
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Must have analytical skills
Excellent MS Office skills (excel, word)
