Job Description Summary The primary responsibility of the Data Quality Specialist will be to support and sustain the Data Quality foundation & strategy across C&PSO. The Data Quality Specialist will partner with the business to improve data quality through process improvements, data lifecycle management, data quality metrics, and champion data quality within the organization. Job Description Roles & Responsibilities The Data Quality Specialist will be part of the Customer Master Data team and will contribute to the development and deployment of modern machine learning, operational research, semantic analysis, and statistical methods, helping to manage data quality projects involving large, complex data sets.In this role, you will:Data Quality
Work with business owners to define, establish, and maintain data quality rules
Create, apply, and maintain data definitions consistent with department and organizations strategies
Working with business and IT partners to remediate identified gaps using both manual and automated solutions
Establishing and refining processes to continuously monitor data quality
Develop analytics within well-defined projects to address customer needs and opportunities
Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods
Work with data engineers on data quality assessment, data cleansing and data analytics
Generate reports, annotated code, and other projects artifacts to document, archive, and communicate your work and outcomes
Manual cleansing of data to be leveraged by the business while improving data quality metrics
Customer Data Management
Prepare management and technical presentations and interface with leadership and business users to map out and document business requirements, data and information needs, and data exchange flows
Act as an advisor and subject matter expert for data-centric business and technology initiatives, projects and/or programs
Assisting business and technology initiatives, projects, and/or programs with developing data strategies for their efforts, advising them in the planning stages of the initiatives and helping them to align with the data strategy and data quality policies and standards
Participate in Lean activities representing Customer Master Data management, data quality, and business processes/rules.
Policies, Standards, Processes
Ongoing management and maintenance of C&PSO data policies, standards, and processes.
Maintaining data quality processes, governance, and effective use of issue tracking / intake process, and management tools
Ensuring processes are in place to proactively detect, correct, and prevent data quality issues
Documenting business processes, systems functionality, and core data processing
Creation and maintenance of business rules
Desired Characteristics
Solid knowledge of data practices and principles for data analysis
Solid problem solving, analytic, and diagnostic skills
Strong relationship building skills and ability to bring cross functional groups together to drive towards a common goal
Solid interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient with tools and software to extract and analyze data
Understands concepts and applications of business information models, demonstrates understanding of relationship between data, business rules, and functions
Demonstrated skill in the use of descriptive statistics to assess quality of industrial datasets
Experience applying predictive or prescriptive analytics to industrial applications
Demonstrated awareness of data visualization and storytelling methods for conveying information to stakeholders.
Define and develop data validation, verification, and reconciliation strategies
Experience with data quality, master data management best practices
Strong business requirements gathering/analysis skills
Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously
Comfortable working in a fast paced, continuously changing environment
Demonstrated awareness of how to function in a team setting
