The Role You will be responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content to achieve business goals through the development of a clear content strategy. You will need to be experienced in researching, sourcing, writing and editing content. You will serve as the lead person for all matters relating to the media. You will need to take a journalistic approach to source the content, working closely with the PR Agency to ensure that we are showcasing the brand across a range of different communication channels including the website.
All content including video, images, audio and text are the responsibility of the Content and Campaigns Specialist.
Campaign monitoring and performance is also a responsibility of this position, ensuring the campaigns have been executed effectively, and managing the campaign planner to ensure that all activity is tracked should any campaign changes need to be put in to place and implement best practice based on the performance metrics. The campaign management part of the role will require coordination with the Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing and Social Media Executive and Webmaster.
We are looking for someone with a track record in delivering successful campaigns and achieving student recruitment targets. You will need to be proactive and introduce innovative ideas based on data and insights.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Develop a content strategy aligned with short term and long term student recruitment targets
Collaborate with the marketing and design team to plan content for all communication channels
Instigate, create and publish engaging and thought provoking content
Edit, proofread and improve on the quality of content and messaging
Provide content support for key stakeholders both internally and externally
Work closely with the Marketing Manager to execute campaigns, taking a multi-channel approach using insights and metrics to ensure relevance in placement
Develop an editorial calendar and ensure content is readily available or source content from across the University to execute the calendar deliverables
Manage the relationship with the PR Agency to ensure that the University is prominently placed in the media
Manage and maintain a corporate portfolio of Middlesex University Dubai (including statistics, achievement, accreditations and partnerships)
Prepare content writing tools that can assist the wider university to ensure the content being published is appropriate for print media, digital media etc.
Work closely with the Webmaster to ensure content is optimized for SEO and reducing bounce rates of web traffic
Generate new ideas to engage new audiences and keep up to date with marketing developments
Ensure compliance with law around copyright and data protection.
RequirementsPost Holder Requirements The successful candidate will hold:
Proven work experience as a Content/Campaign Specialist
An Excellent command of spoken and written English
A motivated self-starter with a proven ability to effectively collaborate and deliver with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of SEO and Web traffic metrics
Good organizational and time management skills
An impressive portfolio of written material, including feature articles.
Demonstrable expertise in developing and managing strong and effective internal relationships across a range of specialist internal stakeholders, including senior management.
Experience of producing/Initiating effective marketing campaigns
Honours degree or higher degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant field.
Minimum of two years recent relevant experience in a journalism, editorial role or similar
