Commis I Full Time

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Commis I to join our culinary team at SO/ Uptown Dubai. As a vital member of our kitchen staff, you will assist in the preparation and execution of various dishes while ensuring exceptional quality and presentation.

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services
• Support senior chefs in various kitchen sections, including hot kitchen and cold kitchen
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food delivery
• Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation and supply ordering
• Participate in menu development and the creation of new dishes under the guidance of senior chefs
• Ensure consistent food quality and presentation across all prepared items
• Adapt to changing priorities and assist in other kitchen areas as needed
• Follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
• Learn and implement new culinary techniques as required

Qualifications

• Passion for culinary arts and a strong desire to learn and grow in the field
• Basic knowledge of various cooking techniques and flavor profiles
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Detail-oriented approach to food preparation and presentation
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Basic food safety and hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively
• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences
• Culinary diploma or relevant experience in a professional kitchen (preferred)
• Knowledge of various cuisines and cooking methods
• Ability to follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new culinary techniques
