Salus University is seeking a responsible individual to fill the Full-Time position of Administrative Assistant to the Provost. The Administrative Assistant to the Provost supports the daily operations of the Office of the Provost/VPAA by providing direct administrative assistance and support to the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs with responsibility for coordinating project activities, events, information retrieval, and complex administrative and policy matters. The Assistant to the Provost will ensure that the Office of the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs operates effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional environment and a high level of confidentiality.
Education, Experience, Skills And Other Requirements
Minimum of a bachelors degree with additional post-baccalaureate and graduate education preferred.
A minimum of five years of administrative and clerical support experience providing records management, budget management, and data entry assistance.
Knowledge of general office, SUS, DCU, Board of Governors, Board of Trustees, and other administrative principles, practices, and protocols.
Knowledge of and ability to operate a personal computer with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Understanding of budgetary and planning processes using Excel.
Ability to work across productivity platforms (both Microsoft and Google).
Ability to work across communication platforms (like Zoom and Google Meet).
Experience with data management systems like Jenzabar.
A general understanding of accreditation and compliance requirements as well as a willingness to learn about them.
Experience with events and event management in an academic environment.
Ability to keep appropriate matters confidential.
Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment when making decisions as well as functioning calmly and effectively during times of stress/crisis.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships within the office as well as with other academic and administrative divisions.
Ability to coordinate, delegate, and implement assignments in order to meet deadlines.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and to interact effectively with a broad spectrum of internal and external constituents.
Strong scheduling and prioritization abilities related to maintaining the Provosts calendar and coordinating meetings and events among the schedules of the Presidents Cabinet, the Deans Council, the Universitys Faculty Senate Organization and others.
